Hello Everyone!
It's time for another edition of
showing our homes room by room.
Visit Kelly's Korner for a full list.
Come on in and take a look.
The paint color is Shortbread by Sherwin Williams.
It was a special purchase for my husband for his studying.
The black leather chair is from Sams Club.
I weigh 22 pounds. It's all just fluffy fur can't you see?
We have a Dell computer. It's just okay.
This is his "I love me wall".
I'm serious....:)
They are actually called this by the military folk.
I made it for him since he would not want one.

He's very modest but I am so proud of his accomplishments.
A drawer finial from Home Goods.
This is the helicopter he flies for the USMC.
It's a model of the CH-53E.
I found these colorful plaid drapes at Target.
They are in shades of gold, burgundy and sage green.
Here they are up close. They are at Target for $22.99 a panel.
The other side has our fish aquarium.
The cabinet and tank are from Petsmart.
Here is our two newest angelfish buddies.
Kyle & Ike. Southpark fans know.
We lost our huge angelfish Cartman
after having him for over two years.
Do you notice Ike's top fin is ripped? It's
because an aggressive fish nipped it good.
We bagged that guy up and returned him.

Here is our new betta fish Corona like the sun.
We had our other betta Mars for two years as well.
What a coincidence they both passed in the same week.

I LOVE your wall unit, Melissa! LOL! Don't you just love the warm color and its functionality? Looks like the difference is that we got the closed cabinets on top (hides the clutter :-) and we got 1 unit more. I really love ours too. Shows how we have similar styles, don't we?...Christine
Hi Melissa!
Oh thanks so much for stopping by my place so I can discover yours. You have such a sweet blog and your cat is just way too cute! He is a big guy and I think he has taken over your husband's office. LOL! I am going to add you to my blogroll if you don't mind. Your blogroll looks like mine, about 10 miles long. LOL!
Thanks so much for the birthday wishes too!
Hugs,
Michelle :)
I would love to have a work center like that- I would swivel around that room all day!
Laura
Gorgeous all the way, Melissa! You would make Martha Steward turn green with envy! I love your decorating style!
I didn't realize your husband flew helicopters! If I haven't told you before, please thank him for his service to our country. He is greatly appreciated!
I would love to have an aquarium like yours someday!
Melissa,
Your office looks like a wonderful place to blog and do all the necessary things that keep one’s life in order! The drapery from Target makes the room pop and gives it a soft elegance without being stuffy. It was so considerate to make your husband a special showplace for his accomplishments. He is a person of honor and I truly am proud and grateful of all he does to protect our great country.
Cathy
Hi Melissa, I loved taking a peek into your office. As I would expect, it is just as lovely as the rest of your home. The furniture is so pretty, and you have it decorated just so....typical Melissa! :)
In the AF, we called it a "me" wall...lol! And we would have a B52. We have the framed flag and a few other similaries.
I am lovin' your draperies! I was happy you told us where they came from. I'm tired of spending $$$$$'s on custom. Yours are gorgeous. I will have to think which room I could put those in. Do you know how long they come? We have the 10' or so ceilings.
Loved the office tour! Thanks for sharing!
Donna
Hi Melissa! I enjoyed visiting your home office. Very nice wall you've made for you hubby. Love the wall color too. Have a great day! Vanessa
Melissa,
Love your home office. How do you keep it so neat and clean? My husband's home office is so cluttered and if I try to move things to clean it he has a fit. But after seeing yours I can't stand to look at ours any longer. I will have to clean it and suffer his wrath. Thanks for the beautiful inspiration.
Hi Melissa,
You have a very classy office! I would show mine, but it's a wreck right now and I don't feel like cleaning at the moment. LOL!
I love the office, especially your wall unit. I would love to have an office like that one day. I'm such an organized person and that would give me space for everything.
The plaid drapes from Target look great and as usual, you have done a wonderful job on decorating!
Melissa,
What a wonderful gift for your husband...it is sooo gorgeous(practical too)!!! The whole office is so warm and inviting!!!
Your curtains look similar to my dining room table fabric...I paid a little more than 22.99;)!!! I think you got the better deal!!! I love the big check pattern and the color!!! They are perfect for your room!!!
Your kitty looks like he is quite happy in front of the camera...what a cutie!!!
This is another beautiful Melissa room!!! Thanks for sharing more of WHERE YOU LIVE!!!
Have a wonderful evening!!!
XOXO
Cathy
I love your office, so cute!! Love the curtains!! You have done a great job!
Your office is just lovely, Melissa! Hey...that is the same wall unit as Christine's, huh? I thought so! How funny! An "I love me" wall..what a cute name! I know you must be proud of your dh! Of course, you know I wanted to give Mr. Chestnut a great big hug! Nothing feels more warm and fuzzy than a big, fat, furry kitty...like my Ozzie! Hello to him from my staff! He looks so at home in the office! Is he considering a careeer change? lol Have a great weekend...hugs...Debbie
Melissa, you have created such a gorgeous office. I know your DH must really enjoy being in there. It is always such a treat to have such a warm and inviting place to work and study. Love the drapes and especially the wall you created for him. Just beautiful. Hugs, Marty

I have several bettas...in 5 gallon tanks...and 5 females in a 10 gallon...we even managed to have babies once!
Hi Melissa, What a great office! Love the wall unit! Chesnut looks so comfy in your chair. How sweet of you to do the "me" wall for your hubby. It looks great!
Corona is a really pretty fish. I've never seen one that color before. Have a great weekend! Kristen
Love, LOVE, LOVE your computer desk/wall unit, it is gorgeous!! I actually love everything about your room, I am going to go back and look at your other rooms as well!! Great job, love the curtains!! Yea for target!!
Love the office.
We to have a Love me wall-husband is in the Navy!
I love your office...and the rest of the photos of your beautiful home on the sidebar...you are very talented!!
And I think it's great that you set up a special place in honor of your husband- we thank him, too!!
very nice office...love the curtains...
Melissa, totally laughing because I almost used the "me wall" in my post and didn't because I didn't know if anyone knew what that was. My husband is the same way and lets me put up minimal amounts of his awards. We don't even have a print of the plane (C-130) up. I'm with you, though, I'm a proud wife!
I love your office. You have great taste! I just found your blog from Kelly's Korner and I'm looking forward to following. My husband is also a Marine.
We have the same desk! My husband and I share it, so we have it arranged a little differently. Beautiful office!
oh those drapes would totally match my office- how long ago did you find those?
You have created a warm, functional study for your hubby. Love his awards wall! You have every reason to be proud of him!
Melissa what a lovely office. The desk is beautiful and I love the aquariums. It's funny we have an Air Force "me" wall, a lot of the same books and an identical stein. And the cat is too cute; I think he likes posing!
Thank you for sharing,
Sharon
I love this room as well, Melissa! Especially the aquarium. I love fish and tanks! You have great taste... I bet hubs loves his room!
Love the furniture! Our best buddy is a captain in the Army, he leaves for Afghanistan next Wed...Please keep them in your prayers. I love the model of the plane he flies...so cool! Have a great week!
I like his office! And the fishies. I'm glad Chestnut had such a good time. Hopefully next time some lady kitties will come!
Now that is a great office. We desperately need a room like that. We have office/guest room...it's pretty but not that great for hubby who works out of our home. Hmmm.. how could we do that.
It's beautiful (as usual)!
I like that you've displayed his military memorabilia - my dad did the same thing in his office.
It's always a treat to "visit" your house. :)
Lisa
Hi Melissa! YOU WON THE DRESSES come on by!!!!! BTW, Your house is lovely! CHEERS! Michele
You have a beautiful home!!!
Hi Melissa, your home is much like you....warm and gracious!

Hugs, Barb
Wow! Your wall unit is awesome! I work from home and I would love to have a nice office like that! I enjoyed reading you blog!
well I cant say anything that hasnt been said,,your decorating style is soo great! I love all those colors.
Hi Melissa,
I love your office! I don't think there is a room in your house that I don't love! :) And what a cute cat sitting in the office chair! ;)
We were used to the Navy having a ball in fall (October or November) when my husband was in the Hornet community, but for some reason the Goshawk Ball was in May. I asked my husband and he wasn't sure why. I guess they do things a little differently out here. ;)
So glad to meet you... it certainly seems like we have so much in common! I'll be back to visit often! :)
Melissa
GM My Dear friend...Girl I love your office...I just knew when I seen this it would be great as everything you do in your home just shows so much love..Now I think your honey should have I love Me wall...He makes all of us proud Americans...Love your drapes...oh I wished I had a Target close by me...every thing is 65 miles one way from me...that's why it takes me a whole day to go to town and shop..Girl the only thing we have here is K-mart and Wally World...ha ha!! not much to choose from..
Now I have a BIG monitor like yours and just love it...but also have a Dell laptop I'm not crazy about...I use it only for back up..too touchie for me...give me my desk top every time...Hope you have a great weekend my friend...I'm going to a BIG porch sale tomorrow who knows what I'll drag home that I don't need ha ha!!
I got me more dishes yesterday at Hospice...Len just rolled his eyes at me...My daughter #3 asked me Mom what are you going to do with all these dishes...Told her just making it harder for her and her sisters to clean out my house when I'm gone ha ha!! always love to stress them out more...evil grins...Love ya sis...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Hi Melissa,
Love your RED niche so much. What a difference a bit of paint does for a space. That was a good move and good advice.
I am stuck out in space somewhere and miss all of you so much. I changed my blog title to My thoughts and trivia as I had not been posting any projects I realized. Hence, I am writing those that I remember their addresses. I feel really dumb ! I lost everyone of my blog addresses, also, so I am replacing them one by one.
I miss all of you so much! :-(
That desk is absolutely gorgeous!
Your office, just like the other pictures I have seen of your home on your blog, is just beautiful!!! I love the colors you mentioned, too: sage green, deep burgundy, rich gold...such a wonderful comcombination.
Hi, Melissa, what a pretty office. I love how you've put it all together, it looks perfectly homey and comfortable. And neat too with the bookshelves and storage. Those plaid drapes from Target really make it too.
Love your kitty, he's adorable.
beautiful home!! and i love your cat!!
Very nice. What a cozy and warm place to work. All of the right elements. The chair must be comfy if your kitty takes it over and I LOVE your drapes! ~ Robyn
Oh Melissa, this is beautiful! I was going to ask if your wall unit was similar to Christine's, and now I see her comment, so I guess it is! We've always called the wall with awards on it "Mom's bragging wall". I cannot believe you got those beautiful drapes at Target and paid so little for them. What a deal! laurie
I love your desk. Thanks Chestnut, for the tour...pet pet scratch scratch tickle.
Forst off, thank you for your sweet support and words sweetie..they mean so much to me.
And I adore your office! Bill is the same way...did not want an I love me wall either! I added it to the wall leading dowstairs. There are still many things not here but in his office on base.
LOVE the wall unit. Someday, when our son finally moves into his own place) i want somthing like this in that room. Your wall color looks a bit like the color have I my bedroom, Macadamia. So prety and warm.
Your cat is gorgeous! Our first cat, hannah, was a big girl so i am used to that! Our lucy is 17 pounds so well on her way! *laugh*
Love,
Sue
What a lovely space, Melissa...love that wall unit...perfect for the space!
Hope all is well...thinking of you!
Happy weekend!
;-D
I love the rich finish of your furniture - your office looks so inviting! Love it!
Thanks for the tour!
What a lovely home you have! Plus your cat is sooo sweet. So stinkin fluffy!
I found you through JLC's blog
Fantastic office girl and I love that wall color! I know you must be so proud of your hubby...he deserves a 'Me' wall...
everything looks gorgeous and your betta fish is such a beautiful color..you make me want to set up an aquarium again! lol I use to have a huge one and I loved seeing the fish and each time we would have baby goldfish or mollys born I would call the whole family to come see! lol I ended up giving it to one of my little grandsons..he loved it so and even ask if one of the fish in the tank could be his and it just touched my heart so the way he loved fish that I just gave him the whole thing...
Thanks so much for coming by sweetie...I sure have enjoyed my visit here seeing all this gorgeous eyecandy! Have a great weekend girl!
Hi Melissa, The desk unit is amazing! Beautiful piece! Your home is not only beautiful, but so very neat and tidy!!! Chestnut is just precious! :)
My uncle is a retired pilot from the Air Force. Their "all about me" walls are amazing and moving, aren't they? I sincerely Thank your husband for his service to our country! (...and you for your support of him!) ~hugs, Rhonda :)
Hi Melissa,
Thanks for paying Michelle a visit, she is such a sweet gal. I know you will enjoy her posts.
She "tagged" me today so I thought I should share my good fortune with you - your tagged LOL. I hope you will participate, it is fun! Now off to tag Cathy.
Take care,
Sharon
Hey Melissa, yes, I know I haven't been posting as much lately. With all the nice weather...and at the same time, I haven't been feeling very creative. It's like I can't even think what to post! I haven't been commenting on other sites alot either. Not that I don't want to, my computer (or blogger) is running so slow. It's really frustrating! Kevin wiped the computer out thinking it would help, still slow...I will be posting more soon I hope, if I can just snap out of this blaaaness! Talk to you soon. Kristen
Hey Melissa, I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far. I just love your office, it is beautiful!! I think the best accent in the room is Chesnut!! He is just so cute sitting in the chair acting as the CEC (Chief Executive Cat) he,he. The wall unit is gorgeous!! And, I think your husband’s ” I love me wall" is such an accomplishment, and definitely should be displayed. I love all of your pretty accent pieces you have incorporated into the room. As always, I just love it all!!! Nicole
Melissa,
I am so glad that you stopped by this morning. I always love hearing from you!!!
I hope you have wonderful plans for this beautiful summer weekend!!!
Enjoy!!!
XOXO
Cathy

NO jokes about the LOVE ME WALL....
LOL LOL
(i say as i look at mine)
LOL LOL
(bit enthusiasm!)
Hoooah!
Everything looks so nice. Love the desk and drapes. The fish tank is beautiful.
What a warm inviting room. Many thanks to your husband for his service to our country!
Does the change in stations still give him a trip to the desert? We're still waiting for the next assignment to come down the pipe; they're probably rolling on the floor laughing at our "dream sheet." There is a small, small possibility we could stay put for 6 years- can you imagine?! You'll have to tell me what it feels like! In 9 years of marriage, we haven't even had one door-to-door move. I wouldn't change it, but you know what I mean!
Blessings on you two!
Melissa, your home is so lovely!! So warm. My favorite part is the kitty though!! Do they go nuts over the fish?
hello ms Melissa.well i have a sad story to tell you today.i have lost my Roo.he has fallen in love with a younger woman..............yep,it's true.
my daughter came to take care of me until this ordeal os over, and he is ga-ga for her.it was about 2 wks before i even got to rock him and hold him.he's got it bad........
isn't that just the craziest thing you ever heard of?he truly has a crush on her.he follows her every move.he will stand by her door in the mornings until she gets up.same thing if she goes into the bathroom or wherever.
last nite my daughter and James went to the races,he just stood in his chair like a little statue.then when i got up to see about him,he went into her room and just stood there until i put him to bed.
just thought i would catch you up on the world of Roo.haha
your home is always totally lovely, love ys=a...ann and roo
WONDERFUl home office, Melissa, and look at that cute Chestnut! He is darling. I miss our fur babies so much, and I'm hoping we might get another pet some time very soon. I'd like a teacup yorkie, but I'm open to other pets, too.
You have so many great things in that office, and there is nothing I enjoy more than a fish tank! What fun! Your office is pretty in addition to being fun!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Hi Melissa :)
What a great office! Rich had an "I love me wall" too that I made for him, but since we don't have an office in this house, he has an "I love me shelf" LOL
I'm glad to see the Southpark family is growing and has moved on from Cartman's death. Had his name been Kenny, then I would have had to laugh in spite of myself ;)
Oh and as far as the basement.... you'll have to wait and see LOL
xo,
rue
Beautiful office. I love the wall unit!
That cat has the best seat in the house! I wonder if he has any fish stories to tell...lol I like how you put everything together.
Hey girl how are you doing my friend...I haven't seen you out and about today...thats so not like you ha ha!! Hope all is well in your world and your's doing something fun...Love ya sis...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
I had to giggle at "the wall." We have always had the Me wall but when we moved into our current home it somehow didn't make it up on the wall. Now you have me feeling bad so maybe as a surprise I'll but up his Naval treasures.
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Jo
Wow! Your office is beautiful!! And love the edition of kitty too! :-) I also love the "I love me" wall! Laura
What a great place to go and read or work. Do you blog in there? I love the drapes.
Great wall tribute to your hubby.
I love your home But I must confess,I am always looking for shots of that fabulous gigger beast! ;)
m ^..^
I wanted to stop be again and thank you for the sweet comments you made about my wedding photos...you're so sweet! :)
Have a great day!
I WANT YOUR CAT!!!! (hehehe)
I thought that was some kind of padding or cushion at first. Great looking home though!

Hi Melissa! Just popping in to say hello! Love the kitty on the chair, such a cutie!! I hope your week is going great!
~Michelle
Hi Melissa,
I enjoyed visiting your Home Office. I was tickled that we have the exact same draperies! Thanks for sharing your decorating ideas and inspiring others with your talent.
Also that was a sweet way to honor your hubby.
Kim
Hi Melissa;
Thanks for coming by my blog. Love that desk/hutch combo and those Target window treatments. I'm going to check them out!
I came by to tell you that Lynette, Lori, Tammie, Shelby, myself and some other bloggers are all on Facebook. It's alot less time consuming than blogging. I don't think Kristen is still doing either - per Lynette. We'd love for you to join us!
I'm headed out of town for about 11days, but I'll catch up w/ you when I return. I hope you're having a good summer!
Your office is gorgeous and classic!
